As an IPv6 proxy provider, we don't support IPv4 websites or residential proxies right now. So, for some scraping tasks where the site doesn't work with IPv6, we might still need IPv4 proxies. But let's be real, the big names in the market can be pretty pricey. We all know Bright Data (formerly Luminati), Oxylabs, and Smart Proxies offer top-notch IPs, but they can really hit your wallet. When you're just starting a project, they might not be the best choice, especially if you're on a tight budget.

In this article, we want to share some other providers we use alongside AltV6. These are cheaper options with decent quality. Let's dive in!

Data Impulse: The Budget Choice

Data Impulse is a well-known affordable option. Their pricing is simple, starting at $1 per GB, and they offer residential, mobile, and data-center proxies.

Overall, they're a reliable choice. The only drawback is their pool size, which is limited to 5 million IPs, with only 120,000 in the USA. It's important to use this provider with a smart scraping strategy to avoid bans due to their limited pool.

Pros:

  • Affordable pricing: starting at $1 per GB
  • Flexible rotation: supports per-request rotation and sticky sessions
  • Geo-targeting: available by country, city, or ASN
  • Excellent support: 24/7 support via email

Cons:

  • Small pool: about 650k IPs active in real-time
  • Uneven country distribution: Egypt and India have many more IPs than the USA or Europe

Geonode: The Rigid Premium

Geonode is a solid provider. We believe they offer better quality than Data Impulse, with a larger IP pool of about 10 million IPs, but they only support residential proxies. We no longer use Geonode because their pricing options are limited. They have just one plan: $50 a month for 100GB. While $0.5 per GB is reasonable, having to pay $50 upfront can be a bit steep. We hope they introduce a cheaper option. They do offer a great trial: 10GB for $1, but it's only available for 3 days.

Pros:

  • Large pool: Over 10 million unique IP addresses in 190 countries
  • Excellent on-boarding: Stylish dashboard with helpful on-boarding
  • Unused data policy: Unused GBs roll over to the next month
  • Good community: Active Discord community

Cons:

  • Rigid pricing: Only one plan at $50/month

Evomi: The Swiss Quality

I discovered Evomi on Discord, where they are quite active in the Scraping Enthusiast and Sneaker Development servers. It's definitely one of the top choices from this list. Their pricing is similar to Geonode, with options like $1/GB or $50 a month for 100GB. Plus, the traffic you purchase never expires, which is great.

They offer a variety of options: residential proxies, data-center, mobile, and even "premium" residential proxies, which are said to be a better-selected pool with faster speeds. It's a reliable choice, and we use it frequently.

Pros:

  • Many plans: Residential, Mobile, Datacenter, ISP, and many options
  • Quality pool: Over 9.5 million IPs in the USA, with many in Europe and Southeast Asia as well
  • Affordable pricing: Perfect for tight budgets, $0.99/GB for residential
  • Cool website: Good onboarding and useful dashboard information

Cons:

  • I couldn’t find any significant cons.

Oculus Proxies: Great Contender

Along with Evomi, we're also using Oculus Proxies right now. They aren't the cheapest for residential proxies at $1.50 per GB, but they offer some interesting packages we're trying out.

The first package is ISP proxies, which cost $0.65 per GB. They're similar to residential proxies and work well for many websites and targets. The smallest order you can make is $9.75 for 15GB.

The second package we're testing is shared datacenter proxies. They allow you to pay per gigabyte instead of per IP, which means you can access a much larger pool for a good price. For just $4.50 (the smallest amount you can spend), you get 30GB of datacenter proxies. There are about a million IPs in their datacenter pool.

Pros:

  • Multiple options: ISP and Datacenter with per-GB or per-IP options, and residential on a per-GB basis.
  • Great pricing: Good for starting a project, beginning at $1/GB for residential, and even cheaper for ISP and datacenter.
  • Community: They offer support via Discord.

Cons:

  • Dashboard: We found the dashboard to be a little buggy with delayed traffic information.

The recap

Here's how we rank them:

  1. Evomi: Cheapest and best dashboard
  2. Oculus Proxies: Lots of options and good prices overall
  3. Data Impulse: Affordable and straightforward pricing
  4. Geonode: Good quality, but limited pricing options

They're all solid choices with decent quality and fair prices. But if you're scraping websites with IPv6 support (you can check using our IPv6 Compatibility Test), AltV6 might be just what you need. We actually offer the largest IPv6 pool on the market, with trillions of dedicated IPs per user.
